Got Clogged Drains? Odors? We Have The Answer For You

1.11 Qt., 1 US Gal. SUPERFLOW™
Whether you've got a massive apartment building, a multi-unit hotel complex, a hospital X-Ray lab, an office building, a shopping mall, an entertainment facility, a busy restaurant or just a small household - clogged or smelly drains can be a real problem

In most urban and rural centers in North America we use water every day to expedite and expel soap and water, cleaning chemicals, processing waste, food waste and even sanitary waste - in other words - RAW SEWAGE.  It goes down our drain systems in all of our buildings and out to municipal waste water treatment systems or to septic systems.  If something goes wrong and the drain systems back up - you need to act fast and you need to have a reliable solution that you can count on - every time.

Traditional drain openers use harsh chemicals to break up blockages by creating a strong chemical reaction that creates an explosive reaction with excessive heat and literally BLASTS the blockage away down the drain line.  These chemical reactions can cause toxic gasses and nasty chemical formulations that can be harmful to your pipe systems - and downright dangerous for you to be breathing!  In larger buildings the heated materials eventually cool down and re-attach to the pipes further down the line - sometimes in as little as 5 feet, causing more problems for maintenance personnel.  Plumber's snakes and other mechanical devices can open the drain lines however they cost in labor and waiting time plus eventual re-piping costs can be astronomical.

EATOILS™ GREENER-CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN products use a different approach to the problem of blocked drains.  SUPERFLOW™ is a  microbial drain opener and drain maintenance product that naturally breaks down clogs and keeps drain lines running freely without odors.

When used as a drain opener, EATOILS™ SUPERFLOW™ rushes billions of beneficial microbes directly to the site of the blockage where they immediately get to work like little 'Pac Men', digesting the organic material in the blockage, and, in as little as three hours the blockage can be dissolved and cleared away.  Typically, drain opening is best done at night, when the drains will be left undisturbed by residents or employees in the facility.  By morning the system should be back to normal and the lines should be running freely and lingering odors should have disappeared.  Tougher clogs may need an additional treatment to clear.

Used as a drain maintenance product, SUPERFLOW™ deposits billions of tiny 'people friendly' microbes - a beneficial biofilm - along the walls of the pipes to prevent waste from building up on the walls and creating a blockage.  Larger buildings may require monthly dosing in drain stacks, gravity mains and feed lines to prevent accumulating blockages.

As little as 4 ounces of SUPERFLOW™ poured down the drain at night can restore a slow running drain or toilet to full capacity by morning.  This unique formula can even be used through standing water to open drains in tubs, toilets, sinks and floor drains.  SUPERFLOW™ is commonly used for drain maintenance in high volume systems so that major blockages don't occur.  We even have clients who work on air conditioning and heating systems who swear by the product for opening overflow drain lines without the need for expensive labor charges.

If you are ready to try this product we can take you directly to our shopping cart where you can buy a 1.11 Qt/1L bottle - enough for 9 x 4 oz. treatments or other sizes just click here

Study Says Most 'Green Cleaning Products' Are Actually Toxic - EATOILS™ GREENER-CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN Products Are Your Best Bet

Julie Deardorff recently reported in the Chicago Tribune - "Study: 'Green' products emit hazardous chemicals".

Here is a reprint of that article:
Chicago - Widely-used scented consumer products that claim to be "green," "organic" or "natural" emit just as many toxic chemicals as other fragranced products, new research shows.

The study analyzed 25 scented products; about half carried green health claims. All the products emitted at least one chemical classified as toxic or hazardous.

More than a third of the samples gave off one chemical classified as a probable carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, according to the research, published in the journal Environmental Impact Assessment Review. The EPA has set no safe exposure level for possible carcinogens.

Overall, the products tested emitted more than 420 chemicals, but virtually none were disclosed to consumers, said the study's lead author, Anne Steinemann, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Washington.

"Products with 'organic fragrance,' 'natural fragrance,' and 'essential oils' emitted just as many toxic chemicals," she said. "Basically, if it had any kind of fragrance or scent, it emitted toxic chemicals."

A single "fragrance" in a product can be a mixture of up to several hundred ingredients. But since manufacturers are not required to disclose all ingredients in cosmetics, cleaning supplies, air fresheners or laundry products, the majority of the chemicals are not listed on the labels.

The most common emissions the researchers found included limonene, a compound with a citrus scent; apha-pinene and beta-pinene, compounds with a pine scent; ethanol; and acetone, a solvent found in nail polish remover.

Brand names were not included in the data to avoid leaving the impression that products other than the ones reported in the study were safer. "We found potentially hazardous chemicals in all of the fragranced products we tested," said Steinemann.

While the study confirmed the ubiquitous presence of the chemicals, it doesn't look at whether the products are safe to use. Studies conducted by the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials maintain that the ingredients are safe.

But previous research by Steinemann and a colleague showed that nearly 38 percent of Americans report adverse effects when exposed to some kind of fragranced products. Among asthmatics, such complaints were roughly twice as common.

The Household Product Labeling Act, currently being reviewed by the U.S. Senate, would require manufacturers to list ingredients in air fresheners, soaps, laundry supplies and other consumer products.

For consumers who want to avoid the chemicals, Steinemann suggests going back to basics: Cleaning with vinegar and baking soda, opening windows for ventilation instead of using air fresheners and using products without any fragrance.

But she cautioned that products called "fragrance-free" and "unscented" are not necessarily non-toxic. The chemicals identified in the study could have been part of the added fragrance, the product base, or both; product formulations are confidential so the researchers had no way of discerning the source.

Moreover, even if a product doesn't have a scent, it could still contain chemicals that are classified as toxic.

And as counterintuitive as this sounds, "even a 'fragrance-free'' or 'unscented' product can nonetheless be a fragranced product with the addition of a masking fragrance to cover the scent," she said.

For those of you who have been following this blog or our website at www.eatoils.com you will recognize this as another example of 'Greenwashing' - where someone claims to have 'Green' products and makes green claims yet they are only saying all the right words - not delivering the right products.  If the Green product you are looking at does not include a Green APPROVAL - like GREENER-CHOICE™ then it is not Verified Green.

WorldWare Enterprises Ltd., Manufacturer of EATOILS™ GREENER-CHOICE™  APPROVED GREEN Cleaning products does not use any harmful chemicals in the production of its cleaning and treatment products.  "Our Green cleaning and treatment products continue to be the standard in high performance, non toxic GREEN products by which all others are measured.  If you are looking for a safe, green, yet highly effective cleaning product for your household or industrial application you should seriously consider trying EATOILS™ products - They are your Best Bet."

Removing Mold & Mildew From Soft Mexican Brick With EATOILS™ BT200™

Old Mexican Brick Chimney With Mold & Mildew - Before

After Cleaning With EATOILS™ BT200™
If you have ever had to clean a home that has Mexican Brick as its exterior siding, you know it can be very challenging to clean in a safe and efficient manner. Mexican Brick is very soft and brittle, not to mention - very porous, so you need to be very careful not to damage it when you try to remove anything from it with traditional pressure washing equipment and chemicals. When cleaning this type of brick one must be very careful and not apply too much pressure. If too much pressure is applied, the brick can literally break in half and disintegrate into dust.

To get Mexican Brick completely clean you must use a non-hazardous, safe solution that can get into the pores of the brick to REMOVE the mold and mildew completely without damaging the surface or trhe integrity of the brick.  If possible, you want to deep clean the surface and, if possible, to prevent future mold growth.

Most traditional mold & mildew removing chemicals contain toxins or dangerous additives and they only clean the surface mold and mildew at the 'moment of contact'. This leaves tiny spores behind in the pores of the brick that will just begin growing again immediately once the moisture builds up to the right level.

EATOILS™' local distributor in Porter, Texas, Clean and Green Solutions LLC, deals with Mexican Brick on a daily basis.  Recently, they were called out to this home (see Before picture above) to clean all the mold and mildew from the brick. The homeowner had received complaint letters from the local neighborhood homeowners association and he needed to get the home cleaned in order to be in compliance with the association guidelines.

Here is how they did it: Using the EATOILS™ BT200™ Certified GREEN degreaser they mixed the product at 5 ounces of EATOILS™ BT200™ to one gallon of water. Using an X-JET applicator, they applied the diluted EATOILS™ BT200™ to the entire surface of all walls and allowed it to sit for 10 minutes. Then they repeated the application and allowed to it to sit for an additional 20 minutes. They used a total of five gallons of diluted solution, which required 25 ounces of EATOILS™ BT200™.  An X-JET applicator is a nozzle for a Pressure Washer that allows the product to be applied directly to the surface with out being diluted any further. Even though the EATOILS™ BT200™ is a degreaser, it is an excellent product for removing mold and mildew on contact, plus it also can prevent the re-infestation of the mold.

After allowing the EATOILS™ BT200™ to dwell for the times stated, they then used the pressure washer (3500PSI/6 GPM) to remove the mold and mildew stains. However, they used the chemical tip. The chemical tip is normally used to apply solution or chemicals at a very low pressure. This tip actually sprays the water onto the surface with less pressure than a garden hose sprayer that is set on “jet” or “full stream”. Using this tip meant that absolutely NO high pressure was used - ANOTHER AMAZING REASON TO USE EATOILS™ BT200™!

As you can see in the pictures above (Before and After), the brick cleaned up perfectly with no damage to the brick whatsoever. Once all areas were cleaned they re-applied the EATOILS™ BT200™ and left it to dry with NO RINSING. This will provide continuing, ongoing cleaning and mold prevention to help to keep the brick cleaner for a longer period of time.

EATOILS™ BT200™ is a Super Concentrated GREEN degreaser and all purpose cleaner. Once diluted at 5 ounces per gallon, our end user product cost was less than $5.00. Compared to the cost of other products that require dangerous chemicals to do the cleaning, and can damage the surface, EATOILS™ BT200™ stands alone as the best and safest cleaner - yet it remains one of the most economical available on the market today.

EATOILS™ BT200™ degreaser can also be used to remove oil and other automotive stains from equipment, concrete, asphalt and soil. It also a great cleaner for canvas and fabric sunshades, umbrellas, tents, etc. EATOILS™ BT200™ will also remove grease, tar, and oil, from clothing, drapes, carpeting, upholstery and just about any other surface. Plus, it is environmentally friendly - GREENER-CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN and completely safe for you and your family.

If you are ready to try our BT200™ degreaser we can take you directly to our shopping cart where you can buy some online just click here For more information about our EATOILS™  GREEN products come to our website at www.eatoils.com or call our North America-Wide toll free number - 1-866-621-8244 - Customer Service Reps are always ready to answer your questions and to serve you - Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, EASTERN time.

Got Dirty Grout? EATOILS Has The Answer

Before - typical kitchen ceramic floor
with darkened grout lines from buildup
Cleaning grout lines can be a very difficult task, particularly when you consider all the material that is usually collected in grout 'valleys'.  As Grout is typically a porous material like cement all sorts of oils, greases, and particles can get trapped in the grout and discolor it easily.  Traditional floor & tile cleaners do a pretty good job on the floor surfaces but they have virtually no effect on the discolored grout and over time the grout lines fill with these materials and can become unsightly.  Harsh chemicals and a lot of elbow grease have been the only answer for cleaning grout and the results have been inconsistent.  Short of getting down on your knees and manually scrubbing the grout, usually with nasty chemicals, there has not been a real alternative for cleaning grout until now.

After cleaning with SUPERFRESH
- note the original 'Champagne' grout
WorldWare Enterprises Ltd., manufacturer of EATOILS™ ECOLOGO™ Green Cleaning Products, has discovered that the deep cleaning characteristics that you are looking for in a grout cleaning product are already available for you to use in our SUPER CONCENTRATED GREEN CLEANING PRODUCTS - and it only takes a few minutes!  These products include: BIOBLAST™, SUPERFRESH™, and SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™. THESE PRODUCTS ARE ALL GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

For best results on a small area: 1) spray the concentrated formula onto the grout lines to wet, 2) add approximately double the amount of water, 3) agitate with a soft bristle brush, and 4) watch months of buildup disappear in a few minutes.  For larger areas:  1) mix the cleaning solution at 4 oz./ gallon of warm water and soak the floor with up to 1/2" of cleaning solution, 2) leave it in place for 20 minutes or so, then 3) brush with a straight broom, and 4) squeegee the entire floor - you'll see all kinds of contaminants removed with this method.  For 'restaurant makeover' type clean-ups: you can use this method with a steam cleaner to bring back the original 'sparkling clean' grout - just like new!  Naturally, if the quality of the grout has deteriorated and broken down over time, you should use these cleaning methods then follow up with grout repair (if you don't clean it first you will seal in the dirt and it will be impossible to bring back the original clean grout lines).  Also, be aware of sealed floors - floor sealers typically seal in the dirt - strip the sealer before attempting to clean the grout and only seal the floor after all contaminants have been removed from the grout lines so your floors will look clean after sealing.

Grout cleaning can be a pain - but if you can use the methods and products offered by EATOILS™ you will find the process can be painless for you and the results will dramatically improve the look of your tiled areas.

BIOBLAST - The Best One-Two Punch For Cleaning + Grease Trap Treatment In Your Restaurant

Have you got a restaurant with a small but steady clientele? Are you fighting to make ends meet, trying to control costs yet keep your restaurant clean and 'slip free'?  Are you staying on top of your costs yet you keep seeing the 'Grease Trap Guy' come in to clean your trap (more than 5 times per year) at a hefty cost each time?  Perhaps it's time to look at EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ for DOUBLE DUTY - 1) floor cleaning and  degreasing plus 2) for daily grease trap treatment.  Many of our smaller restaurant accounts have found that the value in using our BIOBLAST™ combination cleaner and treatment product is the answer they are looking for!  Instead of having 4 or 5 different products  - a kitchen degreaser, a bathroom cleaner/deodorizer, a good hard surface cleaner for tiles and traffic areas, a grout cleaner, plus a grease trap treatment - they can use our BIOBLAST™ for all these jobs at a very cost effective price point.  (Larger and busier restaurants usually prefer our "SUPER" Concentrated products that are targeted to the individual jobs in crazy busy restaurants - with higher concentrates [ideal for fast food and 24/7 restaurant operations] - slippery floors(SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™), odors, tile and grout, mold and mildew(SUPERFRESH™), and grease traps(SUPERSEP™)).

The hidden advantage of this product is in the special formula - billions of tiny microbes continually attack and digest food particles, including greases and other organic materials that are lodged in the tiny cracks and pores of all surfaces including tiles, grout and even composite flooring - the result is that while you are at home sleeping these microbes keep on working for up to 80 hours, making your facility look its best.

BIOBLAST™ is Certified GREEN and safe for you and your employees.  You'll also find that you clean less often and that the cleaned areas stay clean longer!  If you put some into your grease trap nightly, you'll find that you can reduce your need to call the 'Grease Trap Man' by up to 80% - if you see him now 5 times per year that will drop to once!

Check out our testimonials on our website and you'll see what our clients say about this product - come to www.eatoils.com  - you can also buy online and we'll ship it out to you (usually the same day by UPS ground).  Whether you are located in the US or Canada we have warehouses in both countries to serve you.  If you would rather talk to a real person, you can reach us toll free at 866 621 8244 Monday - Friday 9 - 5 Eastern Time - Customer Service Reps are standing by, ready to look after you.  Call us and start enjoying the benefits of EATOILS™ Sustainable Green Cleaning Products. EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ Removes Even The Worst Black Mold Found In Florida

BEFORE   Brown Mold On Awning - Mobile, AL  AFTER
Enclosed areas where moisture can build up can be a breeding ground for mold and mildew.  Particularly in locations where wood and wallboard are exposed, like: 1) under rafters, 2) in damp basement areas, 3) in bathrooms, 4) below open buildings and 5) in attics.

Mold & Mildew can be harmful to you and your family as the spores can cause allergic reactions and illness.  There are two problems that you need to deal with when you are trying to address mold and mildew: 1) removing the infestation effectively (mold and spores), and 2) preventing it from recurring.

REMOVAL: -  In the past, most mold removal companies literally had to remove the offensive building materials, address the source of the moisture and rebuild the structure - a very expensive proposition.  If the infestation was small it could be treated with bleach or disinfectant products, however, the problems with bleach & disinfectants can be just as dangerous as the infestation - affecting breathing and damaging the building materials - plus the effects of these products are only momentary and there is no lasting effect.  Recent developments in microbial cleaning products have yielded effective long term results with the added bonus of prevention of recurrence (when the source of the moisture is repaired).  These products remove the infestation and, virtually stand guard, defending the area from re infestation from the spores.

PREVENTION: - Once you remove the source of the moisture you have effectively prevented the mold from recurring however, particularly in areas where there is no resolution to the moisture issue (enclosed bathrooms) the mold will return the next time it is moist.  Microbial cleaning products are particularly effective in these instances as they can protect the area from some of the recurrence and regular, weekly cleaning with the product can actually prevent it completely.

Many mold abatement contractors have discovered the advantages of using microbial cleaning products to treat these mold problems effectively.  Over the past few years WorldWare Enterprises Ltd. of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada has developed a number of green microbial products that work well on mold and mildew.  Depending on the actual mold encountered, we have products that will effectively remove and prevent the recurrence of these infestations for years to come.

The success stories for treating northern grey/black mold and southern brown mold have been impressive as infestations have been stopped and reversed with  as little as one application.  We have written here before about the results for removing brown mold from awnings in Mobile, AL (see picture above, showing before and after) - update: it was over 1-1/2 years ago that the vinyl awning was treated and, as of last week, there is still no recurrence on the awnings (in the same time period neighbors with the same type of awnings have had their awnings treated with harsh chemicals at least 5 times and the mold keeps coming back!).

For some time now the most difficult mold type to resolve has been the black mold that is common in many parts of Florida.  It is a very resistant mold that is very hard to remove with  any success.  Recent trials and actual case studies have proven that EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ is very effective at removing and preventing the recurrence of this black mold in Florida.  For example, our client, William Booth of Tallahassee, FL was having a problem with mold on his exposed wood on the underside of his home.  The smell and spores were affecting his family and he had to do something fast!  He called our technical service personnel and was advised that we had experienced some success with our EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ for this type of application (this product is very good at treating the mold and mildew typically found in damp bathrooms).  He purchased a pail of our EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ and he set to work on his home - he mixed it as described in the instructions and then he applied it to the exposed wood - and within minutes he noticed a big reduction in the mold.  After a second application it was all gone and there has been no recurrence since he treated the wood in April.  We spoke last week and he confirmed that he is very happy with the results - another fine job by EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™. This product is GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

Work Smarter, Not Harder With EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products

Are you tired of endless cleaning, scrubbing, rinsing, polishing, scrubbing, cleaning and neverending work trying to keep your floors bright and clean?  Perhaps it's time to try EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products - you'll save both time and money - and you'll have your cleanest floors ever!

One of the wonderful facts about using EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products is that you only need to wet the floor area with the products for the cleaning action to start working.  This means that you can confidently damp mop a floor area from edge to edge and once the product is in place it starts working!  Billions of tiny scrubbers keep on working for up to 80 hours, deep cleaning and removing all traces of soils, foods, and other deposits, leaving a brighter, cleaner surface for your clients and guests.

You don't need to use much . . . usually 2 oz in a gallon of warm water is all that you'll need to make the best cleaner that you have ever tried.  That's right!  Not just the best GREEN CLEANER, BUT THE BEST CLEANER, PERIOD.

You don't need to scrub corners . . . the billions of tiny scrubbers in the product do the work for you, deep cleaning into the pores of floor surfaces to remove deposits and build-ups that have developed over time.  For faster results on heavy build-up, you could soak the floor using the product in diluted form and let it sit for an hour, then come back and squeegee the entire area - you'll be shocked at how much nasty material is removed.  Then, let it continue to work until the next sceduled cleaning.

You don't need  to rinse . . . the floor dries bright and clean!  Without the extra level of labor required to rinse every time you save more every time you clean.

You don't need to clean as often . . . our clients report that they can reduce their frequency of cleaning by between 1/3 and 1/2 by using our products.  For properties with multiple cleanings scheduled per day, you'll find that your floors are cleaner and require less actual cleanings per day - you just keep on saving - time and money - every time you clean.

You don't need to disinfect as often . . . for clients who need to disinfect regularly due to health concerns, (hospitals, food service, schools, retirement facilities, institutional accounts) the regular use of EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products in conjunction with sanitizing cleaners can actually provide the best of both worlds - eliminating harmful micro organisms and deep cleaning to remove organic matter and odors.  The regular use of EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products effectively displaces harmful microbe populations from floor surfaces over time.  By incorporating EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products into your cleaning program and reducing the frequency of disinfecting cleanings in less sensitive areas like hallways, cafeterias, etc. the combination of cleaning programs can actually provide the best total care for clients.

EATOILS™ Green Cleaning Products for floor cleaning include: 1) BIOBLAST™ for general purpose deep cleaning and deodorizing,  2) SUPERFRESH™ for deep cleaning and deodorizing smelly areas including bathrooms, kitchens, plus garbage bins, and 3) SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ for degreasing busy kitchen floor areas.

EATOILS BIOBLAST LOOSENS COBWEBS FOR EASY REMOVAL

EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ makes easy work of the difficult job of removing cobwebs and spider infestations.

Our distributor in Houston, Texas, Clean And Green Solutions, runs across these types of jobs in their daily routine as a contract cleaning company that handles the problems that other companies just avoid due to the challenges that they can present.  Here is how they handled a recent job:
"Clean and Green Solutions, the Houston,TX distributor for EATOILS™ GREENER-CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN Cleaning products was recently called out to this home in Kingwood, TX. The owner of the property had just listed the home for sale and needed an environmentally safe way to remove the cobwebs and spider infestation. As you see in the 'before' picture there was quite a buildup of spider matter around the window frames  and under the roof line. Most exterior cleaning service companies will use bleach diluted with water to remove cobwebs. The problem with using bleach to remove cob webs is that you have to use way more bleach than water. Usually about 75% bleach to water. Then, when you apply the bleach and water mixture to the exterior of the home the mixture will fall onto all the landscaping & vegetation below the house. Even if you were to cover and protect the landscaping with tarpaulins or plastic sheeting, you could still get bleach damage to the vegetation, as it typically runs off the covering material during the cleaning plus when you remove the covering at the end of the rinsing phase. This is a very unsafe and environmentally unfriendly way to remove cobwebs, both for the user for the surrounding environment.
Here is how Clean and Green Solutions removed the cob webs in an environmentally safe way: They filled a five gallon bucket with water till it was 75% full, and then added 1/2 gallon of EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ . Using a power washer, (3500 psi, 6gpm) equipped with a DOWNSTREAM chemical injector placed at the first 50 feet of hose, we thoroughly applied the EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™  to the exterior of the home. Then using a zero degree tip and keeping the wand approximately 10 feet from the house, working top to bottom, the cob webs easily fell off the house. As you can see on the 'after' picture, above, the signs of spiders have all been removed from the house, leaving a beautiful exterior that anyone would be proud to own.

We have used EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ many times for cob web removal and have always found it to be the most economical and safest way to remove cob webs whether the infestation is heavy or light.  On single story homes the use of a pressure washer is not required. Simply mix the EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ in a garden type pump up sprayer at 6 ounces to a gallon of water. Spray on the cob webs, then remove with a garden hose or broom.

You will find many more uses for EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ than just for cob web removal. EATOILS™ BIOBLAST™ will remove the strongest of odors, it's great for kennel areas, farm buildings, it returns tile and grout to it's original color and beauty, and is an excellent environmentally safe drain and septic maintenance treatment."

Doug Rucker is the owner of Clean And Green Solutions.  Thanks for the posting, Doug!

Sustainability Is The New Catch Phrase For Green Cleaning Products - EATOILS Products Are Sustainable & Green!

Here is a copy of this month's cover story from Housekeeping Solutions Magazine - August 2010 :
A Sustainable Approach To Green
Addressing Today's Cleaning Needs — Without Compromising Future Resources

By Ronnie Garrett

Green equals sustainable, right? Wrong. These are two different ideas with two very distinct definitions. Experts agree that the industry is green, or going green at a rapid pace, but sustainability is its future. In fact, the first step towards greater sustainability requires cleaning operations to fully understand the definitions of these two ideas.

"'Going green' is a marketing phrase that has pretty much run its course," says Patrick Krywko, sustainability director for HP Products, a jan/san distributor in Belleville, Mich. "People will say 'we're going green,' but what does that mean? It means they've bought a neutral cleaner that's green and they're using microfiber. But sustainability is so much more than that. It's looking out for electrical use and the labor force. It's how you clean, what you clean, reducing the stuff you use, watching the packaging that it comes in and more."

The following definitions further clarify these concepts. The Federal government defined "green" in Executive Order 13423 as "products and services that reduce the health and environmental impacts as compared to other products and services used for the same purpose." The definition, originally authored in 1993, specifically focuses on products and services from two angles: health and environmental.

The Brundtland Commission, formally the World Commission on Environment and Development, coined what has become the most often-quoted definition of "sustainable development" in the early 90s. It is defined as development that "meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

"Essentially we want to do things today in a way that doesn't compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs," says Steve Ashkin, CEO of Sustainability Dashboard Tools.

An easy way to distinguish between the two is that green cleaning involves the products custodial operations use and how they use them, while sustainability encompasses what departments are doing within their own buildings and with their own people to be more sustainable.

Honor The Triple Bottom Line

Any organization seeking greater sustainability should follow the Triple Bottom Line concept, which is defined as "the financial, social and environmental affects of a firm's policies and actions that determine its viability as a sustainable organization," according to Renae Hesselink, CPIM, LEED-AP, vice president of sustainability at Nichols, a distributor based in Muskegon, Mich.

"Balancing these three things is not an easy task," says Hesselink. "But it's something cleaning operations should strive for. When you're making any major decision, you should be asking yourself: How does this affect the environment? How does this affect us economically? How does it affect our community, our customers, our employees and so on?"

Ashkin presents the following example to further explain the concept. If a manufacturer of wood products consumes trees faster than new ones can grow, it won't be sustainable — at some point it will run out of trees. If it operates its business in such a way that its expenses exceed its income, it won't be sustainable — at some point it will run out of money. Finally, if it operates in such a way that people do not want to come to work for it, it won't be sustainable either — at some point it will run out of workers.

"The point of this illustration is that two out of three is not enough," he says. "We need to simultaneously address all three components of the Triple Bottom Line. Imagine a three-legged stool. What happens to the stool if one leg breaks?"

Unfortunately, individuals overseeing each piece of the puzzle often do not agree. Ashkin explains that the business community typically claims they cannot do anything unless it's profitable. All the while, the environmental community believes they have to protect the environment at any cost. And at the same time, the labor community focuses on benefits and pay for the workers.

"They look at the world from their own perspectives and argue about which is the right priority," he says. "The Triple Bottom Line helps us understand that they are all right. For us to have sustainable operations, all three issues must be addressed."

Today the focus often centers on green and profit, which Ashkin believes is in error.

"Yes, departments are using green products. Yes, they are being profitable. But how are they measuring, addressing and reporting on human rights concerns such as wages, training, equal opportunities, opportunities for advancement, nondiscrimination, equity and so on," he asks. "When we think about sustainability, we have to become responsible and account for all these issues, not just focus on profits and going green."

The Path To Sustainability

Becoming more sustainable can seem daunting, when all three considerations are factored in.

Ashkin recommends cleaning operations begin by looking at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), www.globalreporting.org. The GRI is a network-based organization that has pioneered sustainability-reporting framework that sets out principals and indicators organizations can use to measure and report their economic, environmental and social performance.

Hesselink then recommends building a sustainability team comprised of heads from various departments within an organization. Exposing this team to feedback from a mixture of departments will result in well-rounded sustainable initiatives.

But, this team needs to be broken down by function. The accounting department will report on very different things than the human resources staff or the facilities team, and those things will be very different than what the ownership reports on.

"This is an organizational process," Ashkin says. "It's not just about what product you use or the services you offer, this is about how the entire organization operates."

The next step is to identify the data the team collects, as well as the data gaps to begin the reporting function. Here Krywko recommends the team start with a baseline building audit.

"You've got to find out what you're doing right and what you're doing wrong before you can write a policy, otherwise you're flying blind," he says.

This audit should look at everything from the products used and how they are stored, the equipment and how it's maintained, building lighting, energy use, water use, scheduling and more.

Create A Sustainability Roadmap

Policy writing should serve as a roadmap to get the cleaning operation on the path to greater sustainability, says Krywko.

"This policy should be a mission-forward way of thinking that says things like: From now on we'll buy trash can liners that are right sized; we're going to use preferred chemicals and papers; we're going to schedule properly so that we're covering all areas of the building that should be covered in terms of human health," he says. "You need to evaluate your cleaning products, practices and equipment."

When writing such a policy, operations need to think about what the building occupants and management might be looking for. First and foremost, is this organization looking to become more sustainable themselves? If so, what can the custodial department do to help them meet those specific needs?

Custodial managers can begin looking at what they are buying and who they are buying from. Look for suppliers and manufacturers that publish annual sustainability reports, which document that they too are paying attention to their sustainability.

The bottom line is it doesn't matter what these suppliers say they are doing, it matters what they do. Ashkin explains this by talking about greenwashing, a great concern in the custodial industry. Any company can say they are green, but as consumers, it is the custodial manager's responsibility to ask suppliers to prove it. Ask to see the test data that says the products are safer and better for the environment, and look to third-party certifications, adds Hesselink.

"To avoid greenwashing, go with products that have third-party certifications attached to them," she says. "Whether that is Green Seal, Design for the Environment (DfE) or EcoLogo, you can be assured that the products are safer and claims are accurate."

Ask manufactures and distributors to also show that they manage a sustainable operation, says Ashkin. Request their data reports illustrating how they are more sustainable than the next guy.

"Are they doing sustainability tracking? Are they publishing reports and making them public?" he asks.

Green Is In

Managers would be naïve to think green is out, it's not. Green plays a very large role in any sustainability effort.

From an energy perspective, for example, custodial operations can purchase energy efficient equipment. They might begin purchasing vacuums with higher filtration levels and noise levels below 70 decibels. Or they may add auto-scrubbers with chemical dispensing systems on board or newer technology that uses only water to clean. The operation may begin cleaning with cold water to eliminate the energy needed to heat the water they use. Or they may move some cleaning functions to daylight hours.

While green is here to stay, sustainability requires cleaning operations to take a closer look at what they are doing. Managers should ask themselves, what is being done to meet the needs of the present while making sure future generations have the means to meet their own needs?

When a cleaning operation can answer that question, then they will not only be green, but sustainable as well.

Asphalt Sealer On Concrete? Not A Problem With EATOILS™ BT200™

concrete driveway before treatment

Here's what our distributor had to say about this situation.  "The customer had hired a kid to seal his driveway for him (a brand new home in a new sub-division of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada).  He gave the young fellow the money to pick up the sealer and rollers - and he assumed the young man knew what he was doing.  Apparently, the young fellow picked up a pail of asphalt driveway sealer by mistake and he had applied it to the majority of the open aggregate driveway before he realized something was terribly wrong.  Needless to say the homeowner was quite upset."

Our local Distributor, Monty Berg of Cleaner Alternatives, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, took the (BEFORE) picture above - for us to see what he was faced with as he tried to address the client's concerns about his driveway.  As Monty had used our products successfully for a number of years, he was pleased and confident to suggest our EATOILS™ BT200™ for the job.  Due to the ongoing cleaning action of EATOILS™ BT200™ Monty knew that the stains would be continually cleaned by the millions of tiny micro-scrubbers in BT200™ and that the deep stains could be effectively reversed in a relatively short timeframe.

"As the driveway was open aggregate concrete and only about a month old, it had absorbed the asphalt sealer quite deeply into the surface so there was a scramble to reverse the process as quickly as possible," Monty says.

First, the entire area was sprayed with mineral spirits to break up the oils in the sealer.  Then the driveway was sprayed with healthy dose of warm water and EATOILS™ BT200™ (in a 3:1 ratio).  The entire area was brushed with a stiff broom to help the product penetrate into the pores of the concrete.  BT200™ cleaned and digested not only the oils that were broken out of the sealer, but also any residue from the mineral spirits.  After an hour or so the driveway was power washed and a light spray of the product was applied to keep on working for the next few days.  After a week the stains had faded but it was still evident that something had gone wrong on the driveway - so the BT200™ treatment was repeated.  It took two more times - a week apart - to get the results that you see here in the second (AFTER) picture.  The driveway is now ready for a proper sealer.

"We now have an extremely happy customer who can't wait to recommend us and our EATOILS™ BT200™ to his friends and neighbours," says Sherry Berg of Cleaner Alternatives.

It always amazes me how some people, when left on their own, can  get into some of the worst situations!  This young fellow didn't ask the right questions in the store - and as a result, he could have caused a very serious problem for the homeowner.  Luckily for this homeowner, he was able to find the right professionals with the right product to virtually reverse the situation at a reasonable cost.

Our EATOILS™ BT200™ is exceptionally good at deep cleaning all types of petroleum oils and greases and it is ideal for cleaning and degreasing driveways, restaurant drive-thrus, garages and parking surfaces. This product is GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ Is Great For Cleaning & Deodorizing Restaurant Dumpster Areas

Cleaning and deodorizing dumpster areas around restaurant and food service areas has long been a difficult challenge for restaurant owners and franchise operators.  No matter how often you clean the area, especially in the hotter months like now, the smell of decomposing food is very upsetting and the odor is not good for business.  Typical odor control products have a temporary effect on smell, but within hours the odor is back - with a vengeance!  As a result, many operators actually call in the refuse removal company before the bin is full, just to reduce the odor.

Now, with the introduction of EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ for cleaning and deodorizing dumpsters and the areas around garbage bins, restaurant owners can take control of those nasty odors and keep their facilities smelling fresh and clean at all times.  This product is GREENER-CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN, contains no harmful ingredients, is safe, biodegradeable, and meets all requirements for safe disposal.

The photographs here show a dumpster area behind a Chik-Fil-A restaurant in Houston, TX, before and after cleaning and deodorizing with SUPERFRESH™.  There is still some rinse water that hasn't evaporated just in front of the bins, however, you can easily see that the residual food has been cleaned - and the odor has been removed as witnessed by the fact that the client has now signed up the contractor to clean and deodorize the area on a regular basis.

Many restaurant owners now insist that their cleaning contractors use EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ for their garbage bin areas and EATOILS™ BT200™ for their Drive-Thru's and parking areas(to remove oil and grease stains).

For more information on these products come to our website at www.eatoils.com or call us toll free at 866 621 8244 Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:00 Eastern Time.

Try EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ For Urinal Drip/Odor Control In Washrooms

Many of the products now in use in washroom urinal drip systems are simply strong odor 'cover up' products that frankly, don't work very well.  Typically they combine the addition of a (hopefully, but not always) pleasant scent to the urinal with a low daily cost.  This can give a false feeling of security to the business operator, as they can 'smell' the system working, however, the ongoing cost of using a 'cover up' product to control odors doesn't actually do anything to remove the source of the problem - urine

Typical chemical cleaning products used in the washroom don't actually remove urine from between tiles so the smell continues to persist.  As a result, the combination of typical cleaners and urinal drip products can actually cost you more in the long run as you usually add more urinal product than necessary to control odor plus you will have multiple cleanings during the day and added cleaning costs in the washroom.

EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ is a superior GREENER- CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN CLEANING PRODUCT using natural surfactants to deep clean all surfaces and following up with beneficial microbes that digest residual organic materials from deep down in the pores of all surfaces including tile and grout, effectively removing contaminants with a continuous, ongoing cleaning action.  EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ not only can be used to effectively clean your washrooms as part of your daily cleaning program (using 2 ounces per gallon of warm water in your wash bucket, spray bottle, 'wet swiffer type' mop, or alternative cleaning system), but it can also be diluted(4 - 6 oz/gallon of water) and used in your urinal drip system as well, providing a 'self cleaning', more odor friendly environment for your customers.  In addition, the cost of using EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ in your urinal system this way can actually be substantially less than what you are currently paying.

A recent study in a public school with two identical Girls washrooms with equal traffic and wear and tear, found that the washroom cleaned with EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ was at least twice as effective as the one cleaned with traditional cleaning products - the client needed to clean the washroom with traditional cleaning products two to three times as often as the one cleaned with EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™, consistently, over the two week study.  The EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™ washroom stayed cleaner longer and the actual cleaning job was easier with the EATOILS™ SUPERFRESH™.

Cleaning Ovens is Easier and Safer with EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™

Another testimonial for our EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ - this time from our distributor in Houston, Texas.

This oven was cleaned for a customer using EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ Certified Green Degreaser. After many attempts to clean this oven:  1) using store bought products (like "Easy Off" and others that contain dangerous toxins and chemicals), and 2) taking a long time to clean (as the product has to dwell), and then 3) leaving that terrible residual smell when you use the oven again.   The EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ cleaned this oven in ONLY 15 minutes.  It even performed better than using the self cleaning option - a) as the oven did not have to heat up to almost 700 degrees to bake the caked on and burnt food, b) wasting valuable electricity, c) plus the time factor - it takes 6-8 hours to perform the self cleaning cycle and d) the heat it generates in the house.

Here is how he did it. He mixed the EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ at 6 ounces to a gallon of water and then thoroughly sprayed the inside of the oven and the oven racks. He then let it sit for 15 minutes and wiped the inside of the oven with PAPER TOWELS. There were two spots that the oven had some really baked on grease, to the point that it was crusty, and he simply sprayed a soft scour pad sponge with the SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™, lightly scrubbed the spots, and the residue & stains came up easily.
The SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ also cleaned all the splatters off the oven window and door. The oven looked brand new when we were done.

The EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ is the only cleaner you need for tough cleaning jobs like ovens, barb-b-cue pits & grills, pot's & pans, and other items that can get a buildup of baked on grease and grime on them.

The best part is the price. A quart of EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™ solution (diluted at 6 ounces to a gallon of water - 1.5 oz/qt.) costs the consumer less than .80 cents for this job (based on the cost of 1.11 qt. = 18.00USD). Compare that to store bought cleaners that run $4.00-$6.00 or more. Plus the EATOILS™ SUPER FLOOR DEGREASER™  is totally safe to use, contains zero harmful ingredients, and takes a lot less time. This product is GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

Clean and Green Solutions and EATOILS BT200 clean up hydraulic fluid mess in Houston Texas

Clean and Green Solutions, one of our US distributors, was recently called to the Chick-Fil-A restaurant located at West Lake Houston Parkway and FM1960 in Humble, TX to clean up this hydraulic fluid that had leaked from the waste collection truck that services the restaurant. Cleaning up this mess only took 20 minutes and less than 1/2 gallon of EATOILS™ BT200™ Certified Green Degreaser. How?

First they sprayed the stained area with a light mist of water, then they poured EATOILS™ BT200™ full strength on different areas of the stain and scrubbed it in using a street broom just until the solution reached a white lather. That took one man only 20 minutes to do.  Then they walked away and let the BT200™ eat the oil and hydraulic fluid away. The billions of beneficial microbes in BT200™ keep on working for up to 80 hours to remove and digest oil and grease stains from deep in the pores of concrete and asphalt.

They could have gone back and power washed the area, but within 48 hours there was a rainstorm and the stained area was completely cleaned with nature's own rain - leaving the area free of all hydraulic and oil stains.

As an added bonus, the BT200™ would have continued to clean any area where the rainwater took it, removing any residual hydrocarbon staining that it encountered along the way.  EATOILS™ BT200™ is used extensively in soil and water in-situ remediation around the world as a safe, cost effective alternative to digging and hauling. This product is GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

Materials used: A little water, less than 1/2 gallon of BT200™, (about $22.00 worth). Man Hours used, 20 minutes. Results, total and environmentally safe removal of all oil and fluid stains and - NO DISPOSAL COSTS.

Pro Power Wash and EATOILS BT200 Clean Drive Thru for Chick-Fil-A in Houston, Texas

Pro Power Wash, a sister company of Clean and Green Solutions, one of our US distributors, recently received a contract to keep the parking lot and drive thru areas clean for the Chick-Fil-A restaurant located at West Lake Houston Parkway and FM 1960 in Humble, TX.

Pro Power Wash uses the EATOILS™ BT200™ Certified Green Degreaser to remove all oil stains, food and beverage stains, and tire marks from concrete, asphalt and even soil. Using the BT200™ full strength, Pro Power Wash applies water to the heavily stained areas, followed by BT200™ full strength, scrubbed into the concrete until a white lather appears, and then it is allowed to sit for 60 minutes. The drive thru is then power washed using a concrete scrubber, (3500 psi at 5.6 gpm) and the concrete is returned to - 'like new' condition.

Matt Michaels, Chick-Fil-A operator says, "I have never seen our parking lot and drive thru area this clean. That BT200™ is awesome, you have made me a believer"

MOLD + MILDEW ON OUTDOOR SURFACES

BEFORE  - - - -       Mildew on vinyl  - - - AFTER
How can you get rid of mold and mildew on fences, decks, concrete and stone work, patio furniture, vinyl awnings and gazebos, shelters, etc without using harsh chemicals?  Well, we just happen to have a few good pictures of EATOILS™ BT200™ doing just that!

Over the years we have encountered a number of situations where mold and mildew have attacked surfaces and left a serious discoloration.  As we do not like to use bleaches or other harsh chemicals in anything that we do we have found that EATOILS™ BT200™ is an ideal mold and mildew cleaner and preventer.

Just mix at approx. 10 - 20 oz./gal (100 - 200 ml/L) and spray it on the surface to wet it down.  Wait for about 30 minutes and agitate with a stiff brush (for softer materials use a softer brush) - you'll see the mold and mildew break down and release from the surface. Rinse and repeat.  Older problems will take multiple applications.  The mold & mildew will disappear and the residual product will help to prevent re-infestation.

AFTER mold & mildew on concrete step BEFORE
We have tried this approach on all kinds of surfaces and the product will not harm the surface in any way as there are no harmful chemicals, solvents, or damaging materials whatsoever in the product.  In fact, the product is GREENER-CHOICE™ APPROVED GREEN and safe for the environment.

If you can't get it clean with traditional cleaning products, give us a call - we may have the answer for you.  Call us toll free at 866 621 8244 during office hours (9:00 - 5:00 Eastern Time Monday - Friday) or visit our website at www.eatoils.com

Cleaning Up Auto Rustproofing Residue From Asphalt - The EATOILS Way!

Rustproofing on asphalt BEFORE
This is what can happen when someone gets their car undercoated or rustproofed and the car sits for awhile in front of your home.  This happened to me a short while ago and it certainly didn't look too appealing to walk down the street and see this mess at my front door - I'm certainly glad that my 'friend' didn't park in my driveway and do this to me on my property!  I knew that EATOILS™ BT200™ would clean up the oily mess if it was on concrete, but I wasn't sure that it would work as well on asphalt.  I knew that it would degrade hydrocarbon oils with its 'non-stop cleaning action' - a natural microbial action that deep cleans the worst stains on concrete, asphalt, and even soil - but I wasn't sure how well it would do on rustproofing fluid.  I also knew that if I left it untreated the marks would be there as an embarrassment for me for years to come.  I was very concerned about the look of the area, so I took some of our EATOILS™ BT200™ and sprayed it (in a 5:1 mixture) on the asphalt to see if it would clean up for me.  Once the area was wet with water and the product, I brushed it in with a street broom and let it dry.  After the first application the stain was lighter, but the marks were all still there.  Over the next few days I monitored the product's progress and I watched how the marks continued to fade.  After about 10 days, I noticed that the stains had faded about 30% so I re-applied the product at 5:1 and brushed it in again.  After another week it had faded approximately 70% so I re-applied it on day 20, brushed it in and waited for it to fade the rest of the way.  By the end of the month it was virtually completely gone (see the second picture for the way it looked).
AFTER 1 month (3 treatments)
After seeing this work on rustproofing fluid we have introduced the product to professional rustproofing clients and they are now using the product in their operations for spill control and clean-up.  If you know of anyone who is working with oil products who is dealing with spills this is the one product that they should be using for spill response and clean-up.  EATOILS™ BT200™ is a certified green cleaning and bioremediating product that safely and effectively addresses the problems caused by hydrocarbon spills. This product is GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

For further information please call us toll free at 866 621 8244 during office hours 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Friday (Eastern Time) and we'll be pleased to look after you.  Come to our website at www.eatoils.com for information about this and other products in our EATOILS™ line.

A Skunk, A White Cat, And Tomato Juice - The True Story

We hear these types of stories all the time, but this one was a little different.  This is the story of a little white cat who came across a skunk and the result of that encounter.

Recently, I was at one of my regular networking meetings with several of my colleagues from different industries.  Linda, the local Kwik Kopy Printing franchise owner, was talking about her recent weekend trip away from town and what she came home to . . .

"While I was away, it seems that my little white cat, Mader (shown here with her buddy, Abby, The Black Lab) went out exploring near our property and somehow had found herself 'face to face' with another pussycat - a  little black and white striped pussycat - not! - it was a very real, very smelly SKUNK!  The skunk was apparently not impressed with our little Mader or her advances, so as skunks do, she sprayed our little kitty.  Anyway, when she finally came home she smelled very skunkish so the lady who was housesitting for us tried the 'old tomato juice treatment' on our poor little pussy, washing her from head to toe in the stuff to get rid of the skunk smell.  When she was finished she was horrified to find that our little white pussy had turned PINK - and that she smelled worse than ever! As you've probably gathered by now, the old home remedy of tomato juice doesn't work to remove skunk odor.

By the time my husband and I got home from our trip, our housesitter was quite upset about the whole thing and worried for our poor little 'skunky' kitty.  As soon as I dropped my bags, I went to the cleaning supply cupboard and pulled out my trusty EATOILS™ SUPER CARPET-FRESH™ and began to soak Mader in it.  I rubbed it into her coat and all over - everywhere that the tomato juice had gone.  The skunk smell was gone in seconds and the pink from the tomato juice  was gone too!  A quick rinse in the shower - luckily, Mader loves the shower, and a good rubdown with a nice warm towel and Mader was as good as new!  It's now several weeks later and there is no sign of the skunk smell or that awful pink color - and Mader is off exploring once again - only this time she'll know not to approach a striped kitty if she comes across one!"

Linda has used our EATOILS™ SUPER CARPET-FRESH™ for cleaning both of her pets, their bedding, litter areas, and wherever accidents occur.  She swears by our products and she refers us to her friends - and with stories like these, who wouldn't want to try our products!

I still can't get over the fact that her cat loves to take a shower!  I've had cats who will stand on the side of the tub and glare at me - but never one who wanted to join in! This product is GREENER-CHOICE APPROVED GREEN.

We love hearing these stories and sharing them with our readers.  If you know of anyone who has had an amazing experience or a success story that they would like to share please have them contact me at admin@eatoils.com and we'll be glad to share it.  For information about our products please come to our website at www.eatoils.com .  If you have any questions we will be glad to answer them (in North America) toll free at 866 621 8244 during business hours Monday to Friday (9:00AM - 5:00PM Eastern Time).  You can reach us by e-mail at any time.

Combining New Technologies Provides Synergy For Remediation Projects - And Cost Effective Alternatives

For many years the task of in-situ remediation of brownfields has been a difficult one - with cost overruns and ineffective remediation techniques being the most common result.  Oxidizing chemicals have been somewhat successful and bioremediation has been reliable for hydrocarbons, given enough time.

At WorldWare Enterprises Ltd., we have been providing microbes and nutrients for bioremediation and accelerated bioremediation projects for several years and we have had many success stories, particularly with household heating oil spills and the resultant insurance claims.

Recently, some of the contractors who use our products have discovered the synergy of combining remediating methods with new techniques for delivering product directly to the contaminants - and the results have been very impressive.  By combining the advantages of using specialized oxidizing formulas (fast acting degradation of many contaminants plus addition of large amounts of oxygen into the contaminant plume) with the advantages of accelerated bioremediation (complete breakdown of hydrocarbons over time) and these new delivery techniques, they have found the remediation timeline can be dramatically reduced and the cost of the job can be very competitive.  The first clients to try this new approach were those who were disappointed with previous methods (vapor extraction, typical oxidizing approaches, bio-augmentation and nutrient loading techniques) that had not provided the expected results.  When these new approaches were tried and the results were so dramatic and in such a short time, thorough investigations were conducted to ensure that the results were really that good.  Time and again the independent testing confirmed the complete clean-up of the sites.  To date, there have been successes with industrial sites (heavy metals & TPH), former gas stations (TPH and BTEX), hydro facilities (TPH and PCBs), automotive plants (PCVs and TCEs), groundwater and residential spills.

The results have been dramatic - complete clean-up in record time! Furthermore, by combining the approaches the products consumed have been optimized and the contaminant levels have been reduced to well below government standards!  The net results are lower project cost and faster turnaround time!

This has prompted some of these contractors to provide a guarantee for their remediation projects - yes, a guarantee!

As we move forward we are aligning ourselves with these successful contractors to provide a complete solution to remediation of all types of contaminants.

If you know of someone who is currently struggling with a contaminated site and looking for a reasonable alternative treatment we would be pleased to provide a remediation proposal using these new technologies.
